The Vancouver Canucks travelled to the Mid Northwest for a match up against the hot Minnesota Wild. The Canucks went into the clash at the Xcel Energy Center looking to break a two game losing streak. Corey Schneider got the start in net for Vancouver.
The Wild started the game the strongest scoring the first goal of the game inside the first minute. It was a strong opening period for Minnesota who extended their lead to 2-0 late in the first period.
The second started the same with the Wild scoring early and taking a three goal lead. Vancouver finally got on the board with a Chris Higgins goal just two minutes later.
The third started brightly for Vancouver as it was there turn to score an early goal with Henrik Sedin reducing the deficit with nineteen minutes remaining. Minnesota ended all momentum Vancouver had with a goal in the 6:29 into the third period.
It wasn’t to be for the Canucks as they fell to their third loss in a row, Vancouver end their three game road trip in Columbus against the Blue Jackets.
