Its true, Ryan Kesler will make his return to the line-up TONIGHT’s game[or perhaps morning for you in OZ]!
The Canucks have certainly missed having #17 in the line up particularly on the power play and in the face off circle]. Needless to say he will be a very welcome addition to the lineup.
Hopefully we will not have to wait long for him to have an impact on the score board and he will have some great chemistry with Roy & Higgins. Perhaps we will get to see a goal much like the first one he scored earlier this season:
Keith Ballard will also draw back into the line up vs. the Coyotes. The Canucks will be looking to extend their home win streak to 6 games [and over all streak to 3 straight wins] and continue their strong second half of the year. In the first 24 games the Canucks went 11-7-6, and in the last 14 games have gone 10-4-0.
In other major hockey news, perhaps you already heard? Gary Bettman has officially announced that the Winter Classic that never was between Detroit and Toronto will indeed be played January 2014. Color me surprised. We all knew it would be the same two teams once it was back on. The only really surprising part of this is the media speculation about the possibility that more than ONE outdoor game could take place next season. The Winter Classic has been a staple the last few years, so it is no surprise that fans were angry at its being taken away or the fact that the league now may be trying to win back the fans it lost.
My question for you is, if there is indeed more than ONE outdoor game next season, who would you like to see play and where? Me, I think it would be great to see the Canucks and either Edmonton or Calgary or even Colorado.
Enjoy the game tonight[or this morning], we are in for quite a ride over these final 10 games as playoff match ups get set!
As always, until next time, nuck said.
