Can you feel it? PLAYOFF FEVER has hit! Perhaps it has hit you or someone you know or work with is driving crazy with their constant hockey chatter. Please forgive us, we cannot help it during this hockey craze that is the NHL playoffs. Be careful not to criticize because you may just find yourself joining us crazy Canucks should the team advance to further rounds and you will not remember the time before you rooted for the team in Blue & Green! Playoffs raise the level of the game to an even higher level and you are in for some highs and lows, excitement, disappointment, frustration and thrills. There will be moments that are good and bad for all teams involved. This is playoff hockey and it has only just begun.
Games 1 & 2 were not exactly what Canuck fans had hoped BUT let’s look at the positives. The Canucks played much a better team game in game 2 (mind you, it was mostly Kesler & Luongo that were completely in beast mode!) and perhaps they deserved to win game 2 but that’s neither here nor there. The fact is the Canucks are down 2-0 and there is nothing that can change the results of the first two games. The only thing they can change is what happens in these next two games. They can start with having the rest of the team joining Kesler and Luongo at playoff hockey level for game 3 & scoring some goals! Speaking of game 3, it is now without a doubt a must win. This is not the time for fans to walk away from their team, this is the time in the playoffs when you need to cheer louder. The Sedins, Burrows, Kesler the Beast, Juice & company need to come to game 3 prepared for do or die. Teams can comeback from being down 2-0 and it is never an easy path, BUT it is possible [currently the Rangers & Minnesota are also down 2-0, LA has clawed within one after being down 2-0!]. It would be really nice to not hear everyone automatically jump on all the negatives and assume how things will play out before the end has happened. You know a little positivity never hurt anyone. Game 2 was an excellent hockey game played by both teams, unfortunately the Canucks were not rewarded with the win. Today they have a chance to change that and get themselves back in this series.
So wherever you are watching the Canucks games from in Australia, Canada or anywhere else please do not give up just yet. It is far from over. Real fans do not stop cheering when the going gets tough. When the Canucks take on the Sharks for game 3, I hope to hear cheers for our team loud & proud! You will be joining me won’t you?
Regardless of how this series ends up, I will always cheer for my Canucks. Enjoy the game today wherever you are watching from, I think it’s going to be a great game that will feature Kesler in beast mode along with a side of Sedinery!
As always, until next time, nuck said.
